Professors Roy Allen and Don Snyder Win Outstanding Paper Award
Saint Mary’s professors Roy Allen and Don Snyder received the prestigous Outstanding Paper Award from the Emerald Literati Network for a cutting-edge analysis of the global financial crisis.
Their paper "New Thinking on the Financial Crisis," published in Critical Perspectives on International Business in 2009. The network said it "was one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2009."
The Outstanding Papers Award forms the backbone of the Emerald Literari Network awards. Each journal published by Emerald may select a winner of the Outstanding Paper award and up to three Highly Commended awards for the year. Awards are chosen following consultation among the journal's editorial team.
Allen is a professor of economics and outgoing dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration. His research interests include globalization, sustainability studies, financial systems, and use of the humanities to gain critical insights into the functioning of the economic system.
Donald Snyder is a professor of business administration His research interests include evolutionary and complex systems among other ways to model the economic system, economic growth and development, globalization and financial market dynamics.
A reception was held in honor of Allen and Snyder at Saint Mary’s on June 3.
